"Come enjoy some entertaining and uplifting choral music from the South Metro Chorale!

With songs that celebrate our nation's 250th birthday and popular songs from our most recent Cabaret performance,

there is something for everyone!  Bring your lawn chair - we will be outside depending on the weather.

The concert is free and open to the public, and families are encouraged to bring young ones."

May 16, 9:00-11:30 am - Considering Glendale as your church home?

If you've been worshiping with us for a while and are thinking about making it official, our next New Member Class is coming up May 16th, 9:00-11:30 am.  It's a chance to learn more about who we are and what we believe, and just as importantly, to get to know other folks in the Glendale community alongside you.

You're welcome to attend without committing to join. It's a low-pressure way to gather information, build connections, and discern whether Glendale is the right church home for you. Reach out to Pastor Brenda or the church office with any questions.

We'd love to have you there!

Glendale UMC will be volunteering with The Open Door Food Pantry

Next volunteer opportunity is May 13th at Eagle Ridge Middle School, located at 13955 Glendale Road, Savage, MN. The volunteer hours are from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

We have drivers to deliver food to clients who cannot travel to Eagle Ridge Middle School, and volunteers to help distribute food at the school. For more information, please contact Glendale at 952-894-5394.

Watch our very own community member perform in Unlabeled Theatre Company next presentation:

Once Upon A Mattress - May 14-24, Buy tickets here.

Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larken and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans. For after all, a princess is a delicate thing.

Ladies’ Brunch with a purpose - May 16th at 10a

Sunday Sermon Series: "Why Did Jesus Have to Die?"

February 18-April 5, 2026

The cross stands at the heart of our faith-and it also raises some of the biggest questions we carry: Why did Jesus have to die? Did God need that suffering? How does something that happened so long ago change anything for us today?
If you've ever thought, "I believe in the crucifixion... I just don't fully understand it," you're not alone.

This Lent, we'll explore these questions together-not to arrive at easy answers, but to go deeper into the mystery and meaning of what happened on that cross.

(Inspired by Adam Hamilton's book of the same title)

Help Thrive Youth buy Animals for Heifer International

During Lent Thrive kids will have a box to fill with coins they will be saving them for Heifer International.  We will collect the money during Children's Moment from the kids on Sunday, April 12.

Join us for Ash Wednesday Service!

Hope to see you there.

Message from CORE Chair - Leadership Retreat Summary

This week our leadership team gathered for a focused retreat centered on alignment, clarity, and shared direction. Together, we reflected on congregational
feedback, shared insights from each area of leadership, and grounded our work in prayer and discernment.

The team worked through setting clear one-year goals for each leadership area, identifying 1–3 priorities for the next 90 days, and defining simple Ministry Pulse metrics to help us notice growth, engagement, and areas needing care. We also aligned on a shared meeting rhythm to support consistent, prayerful, and effective leadership moving forward.

The retreat concluded with a strong sense of unity, clarity around next steps, and gratitude for the work God is doing in and through our church. Leaders are leaving with shared focus and practical tools to guide the season ahead.

*Don't forget to wear your sledding clothes!

THRIVE’S Bible story is Love Is... from I Corinthians 13. God loves you so you can love everyone, too. This is what our elementary kids will be learning 7 January – 11 February!

Ask each other what you remember about: • Paul • Corinth • Love • God’s love • Faith, hope, love

Although this passage is often used at weddings, the original context was addressing multiple relationships in a community. The church at Corinth was having a terrible time getting along. They argued that some people were more important and had more gifts from God than others in their community. These verses helped to address this argument. It is still an important passage today!

Women's Bible Study

Every Wednesday - 9:30 am - No Bible Study until January.

A Bible study that was agreed upon for our first study in 2026 is: “Thrive: Living Faithfully in Difficult Times.”

This study based on the book of James is a six week study by Jennifer Cowart to help women develop the habits and attitudes to thrive whatever the circumstances. The book of James is a letter written about enduring hardships using six traits: Endurance, Wisdom, Action, Control, Humility, and Prayer. It is designed differently with daily lessons for about 5 days a week with questions in the workbook for you to answer. The days we gather will be much the same with a 8-13 min DVD and discussion questions from a leader book.

The participants workbook if we order from Cokesbury is listed for $12.99 each. The workbook can be purchased on Amazon for $13.49. There is also a kindle version listed on Amazon.

*The date we begin will depend on when we can get books… Please RSVP if you wish to attend and how you plan to get your book.
